Although Perth is well known for its city area that doesn’t mean that it’s not somewhere to be taking the family to. There is a wide variety of options when in Perth to see and do that are perfect for children as well as adult alike. From relaxing days in the park to endangered wildlife and thrill-seeking rides there is bound to be something for all the family so if you’re looking for that perfect destination on the Western coast of Australia then Perth should most definitely be on the list of places to consider. Have a look at some of the top family places to see in Perth.

Kings Park

If you’ve got some little adventures at the ready the Kings Park is the perfect places to visit. You are able to sit back and relax in the shade and a picnic while the kids play at the abundance of play parks available. So if they get bored in one area you can be sure to find something new and exciting in the next area, that’s not the mention all the open space you have to let them run around, catching a frisbee, playing football or playing some team games. Why not take them to the Rio Tinto Naturescape, they’re able to engage with the environment or explore the Synergy Parkland and enjoy the amazing dinosaur-era themed playground. Been Perth’s hybrid theme park and water park, Adventure World has something for everyone and you may even need two days to take advantage of what it has to offer. From a magical land filled with baby dragons and medieval vibes to some exciting land and water rides, there really is a lot of fun to be had here. Adventure World is the home to Australias best roller coaster so if you have a family of thrill seekers, this scary, twisting and ride is sure to test even the bravest.

Perth Zoo

This one is for all the animal lovers out there and what family holiday is complete without a trip to see some wildlife. Known for having one of the most successful Sumatran Orangutan breeding programmes in the world it’s not hard to see why so many tourists take the time to visit Perth Zoo. Seeing wildlife is a brilliant way to bring out a passion for nature with all children and can provide hours of enjoyment, they can sit and observe a variety of different species and learn interesting facts on a day trip here. Although Perth doesn't have many big animals they are able to offer the experience see some rare, endangered species that are in need of help. In December 2015, the Zoo became the first in the world to breed the short-beaked echidna in captivity; an important step in saving this critically endangered species. You will, however, have the chance to see animals such as Elephants, Tigers and Penguins.
